Tour de France winner Egan Bernal will not ride on 29 September.
Bernal has pulled from the Colombia team for the race in Harrogate and continues to be substituted by Carlos Betancur.
The 22-year-old conquer the Geraint Thomas of Britain to become the first Colombian to win the Tour de France.
“The gifted Team Ineos cyclist decided to flip down the call-up,” stated that the Colombian Cycling Federation.
Bernal tweeted 4 September that he would not compete in Yorkshire when he did not feel he could function at his best wearing his national colors.
The 285km route used for the road race may not have satisfied a mountain climber and is not especially scenic.
Bernal became the youngest winner of cycling’s most famed affair for 110 years when he claimed the Tour de France.
