Going fast is good

Daniel Jones to replace Eli Manning as starting Giants quarterback.

The New York Giants have announced rookie.
Jones, drafted sixth overall at the 2019 draft, will be set to make his first start on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Coach Pat Shurmur admits the two-time Super Bowl winner wasn’t pleased, also broke the news for veteran quarterback Manning afternoon.
“I advised him that we are making a change and going with Daniel since the newcomer,” Shurmur said.
“Eli was clearly frustrated, as you’d anticipate, however, he stated he would be exactly what he’s always been, a fantastic team-mate, and also continue to prepare to help this team win games. Daniel knows the challenge in hand, and he is going to be ready to play on Sunday.”
Manning holds all of the Giants’ career passing records, including attempts, completions, passing yards and touchdowns.
“Ultimately, this is a movement that I felt was best for this group currently,” Shurmur added.
“I have said it because I got here, I am really fond of Eli. His work ethic, his soccer intelligence, his preparation. These characteristics are as great as I have ever seen in a participant. And Eli functioned as hard as you can ask of anyone to prepare for this season.
“This movement is more about Daniel moving ahead than roughly Eli.”
The Giants are 0-2 with Manning as starting quarterback this season, having a passer rating of 78.7.
