Ezekiel Elliott issues apology after Goodell meeting

Ezekiel Elliott Satisfied with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell at New York on Tuesday to discuss in Las Vegas involving the Dallas Cowboys running back.

Elliott issued an apology for his off-field conduct via Twitter.
“I’ve worked hard to make better decisions and to fulfill the high standards that are expected of me,” Elliott wrote. “I neglected to do here and I made a poor decision.”

The meeting between Goodell and Elliott was preceded by an episode where the running back had a confrontation with a security guard. After the guard fell after being nudged by the back, elliott was briefly detained but never arrested.
Elliott is subject to suspension or a fine under the league’s personal conduct policy despite never being charged with a crime. In accordance with NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, sources have indicated that they do not expect Elliott to be suspended.
The NFL has not yet issued a statement on Tuesday’s assembly.
Joining Elliott in New York for the meeting were members of Cowboys counselor, sources told Garafolo.
This is not the first time Elliott and Goodell have met to discuss the Cowboys running back’s off-field behavior.
For breaking up the conduct policy elliott was suspended six matches in 2017. The suspension came after a yearlong league investigation into domestic violence accusations made against Elliott despite the running back.
The assembly of Tuesday reads like a warning against the NFL to clean up his off-field behavior while it does not appear a suspension will stem out of this latest altercation. The All-Pro that is 23-year-old says he heard that message loud and clear.
“I want to work harder to ensure I don’t place myself in compromised situations later on,” Elliott wrote Tuesday. “I am rededicating myself to utilize each the resources that the league has made available.
“But in the end, it is up to me and I am determined to not be in this position again.”
