Ezekiel Elliott issues apology after Goodell meeting

Ezekiel Elliott and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell at New York on Tuesday Satisfied to discuss in Las Vegas involving the Dallas Cowboys running back.

Elliott issued an apology after the meeting’s conclusion.
“I’ve worked hard to make much better decisions and to fulfill the high standards which are due to me,” Elliott wrote. “I neglected to do that here and I made a bad decision.”

An incident in which the running back had a confrontation with a security guard at a vegas music festival preceded the meeting between Elliott and Goodell. After the guard dropped after being nudged by the back, elliott was detained but never detained.
Elliott is subject to a suspension or fine under the league’s personal conduct policy despite never being charged with a crime. In accordance with the Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, sources have suggested that they do not expect Elliott to be suspended.
The NFL has not yet issued a statement on the assembly of Tuesday.
Joining Elliott in New York for the meeting were members of Cowboys counselor, sources told Garafolo.
This is not the first time Elliott and Goodell have met to talk about the Cowboys running back’s off-field behaviour.
Elliott was suspended six games in 2017 for breaking up the conduct policy that was personal. The suspension came after a league investigation into domestic violence accusations made against Elliott.
While it does not appear a suspension will stem from this altercation, the assembly of Tuesday reads like a warning against the NFL to clean up his off-field behavior. The 23-year-old All-Pro says he heard that message loud and clear.
“I need to work harder to ensure I do not put myself in endangered situations later on,” Elliott wrote Tuesday. “I am rededicating myself to use each of the resources which the league has made available.
“But in the long run, it’s up to me and I am determined not to be in this position again.”
