Gary Neville assesses Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea ahead of the Premier League’s return.

Top-flight activity resumes this weekend after the break and the Sky Sports expert has had his say to the sides that finished in the top six final season, assessing their begins to the effort.
Read on on Liverpool’s title cost Arsenal start below Unai Emery, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Man United hard and reconstruct starts for Chelsea and Spurs.
Neville says:”I had been watching Liverpool at Burnley and that I had that feeling.
“I said last year that I believed they were a championship team. They’re a tournament team. They are currently playing .
“You saw them in Burnley, plus they were not brilliant at the first 20 minutes, but they move and find a goal and then another goal.
“You talk about the clinical element of a group. The bit is right, the bit that is attacking is right, and the midfield looks strong and seasoned. They are a title-winning team and they had been last year, basically by exactly that which they did”

Neville says:”In case Aymeric Laporte’s injury is a serious one, it’s a big issue for City. I stated a couple of weeks back that I had been struggling to comprehend why City did not follow through on Harry Maguire using Vincent Kompany leaving the club.
“I thought Kompany won them the league in the last 10 games of last year when he played all those matches. Forget the Leicester moment which was just magnificent, I thought they were held by his leadership at a time like you wouldn’t believe when Liverpool were employing pressure. In terms of that figure, I think this has been by Laporte.
“I feel that this will cost City points. To be honest, there’s not any one better at coaching on the planet complete stop, compared to Pep Guardiola. And there’s no one better in making what would be play nicely.
“I saw two Champions League finals where Barcelona’d Javier Mascherano and Yaya Toure playing centre-back against Manchester United. So, I am not going to sit here and make the mistake of thinking since they have that a lot of this ball during games, a Kyle Walker or into a Fernandinho can’t turn into a.
“What I’d say is that when Laporte is outside for quite a while, I think that it will definitely cost City points because he is a dominant centre-back. I found him three occasions and he’s a terrific player. It’s a real worry for City. That is the one downer from the weekend City and if I had been a City fan it would stress me at the short term along with the medium-term, based on how long he was out ”

Neville states:”I thought there was great things from Arsenal in their defeat at Liverpool. I came with a degree of sympathy out of it, thinking there was. I have been like that with Arsenal. Against Spurs you speak about the threat, good parts of the game, the strength but you still must mention that they do look rash and sloppy at the back.
“We spoke about the goalkeeper, Bernd Leno’s mistake. I really don’t really trust him. I don’t think he is anywhere near the course of the other goalkeepers we have at the Premier League. David and Sokratis Luiz, the two centre-backs, are rash.
“You could assert that Hector Bellerin has got to come back in, Rob Holding’s got to come back, and Kieran Tierney has also got to reunite so that back four can be bolstered. But you worry that back four will still be great enough for at which Arsenal want to be.
“They somehow need to unearth a centre-back from someplace that is going to hold that back line together.
“There is still that fear about Arsenal they look all around the area at the back when they have good players .
“We watched Tottenham create many chances on the counter-attack them against whereas the top teams handle the counter-attack. They don’t let other teams to cancel them very often, Liverpool and City particularly and maintain their particular attacks.
How to see Arsenal this weekend: Watford vs Arsenal is dwell on Super Sunday from 4pm; kick-off 4.30pm. Clips can be watched by sky Sports clients in the live game site on the Sky Sports website and app. Highlights are also published on the Sky Sports platforms along with the Sky Sports Football YouTube channel soon.
Neville says:”When you’ve got a young team such as the only Manchester United have – it has got a great deal of gamers that are growing and seeking to improve themselves I think they’re going to have plenty of consequences like this in which they do OK in the sport. I believed they performed fine against Southampton, however they just don’t have that component which would permit them to see off the game and win the match.
“There’s a component of frustration from United fans because of where the club have been. There’s been seven decades because although there is still that history of achievement under Sir Alex Ferguson and there’s an element of frustration creating – frustration – which they aren’t on the track.
“I believe that they are on the right path in terms of what they are doing because the first thing United must do, you have to have a set of men and women in that changing room that need to be there.
“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, at what he’s doing, is trying to play the long game. To play with the game he will require the aid. He’s going to need strong leadership during the subsequent two or three seasons to be able to have those four or five transfer windows he needs, not to actually get people in the dressing room all facing the same direction, yet to find the quality in that is desired. You will need the quality to decide on the orientation at the dressing area.
“Exactly what Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have performed at Man City and Liverpool, it took time to get right. Guardiola 12 months, three transfer windows, because he had a better squad in the first location were taken by it. It has taken Klopp three or four years to impact the culture and get a team fully in what he’d say is his personality and what he wishes to perform.
“It will take some time. Solskjaer is currently working more with a group like the sole Klopp picked up in Liverpool than the one Guardiola. From this perspective, this will be a lengthy game at Old Trafford and it’s likely to be frustrating at times. There will be outcomes across the way like Wolves, Southampton and Crystal Palace, but when you see the team a lot of the fundamentals are right.
“They seem to be enjoying the correct way. You see that goal is scored by Daniel James and the manner in which they are currently trying to perform is seen by you . The style of it is rightthe bones are not there. But there is still a very long way to go and it is going to be bumpy on the way.”

Neville states:”The attraction at Arsenal has been a major moment for Spurs. In terms of Mauricio Pochettino, there was an element of stress towards Tottenham in the lead up to this match. There were suggestions he could be on his way outside. There were hints the room wasn’t quite as it ought to be when you have seen the perfect harmony between coach and players.
“I really don’t think that is not there anymore. Finally there been some unsettling elements in terms of players wanting to run down their contracts and possibly perhaps wanting to leave.
“But to get withstood that strain from the second-half at the Emirates prior to the international break and come away with a point proved to be a huge time for Pochettino. It is something as a trainer for him.
“I do not buy into this Arsenal will finish over Tottenham stuff, to tell the truth. There is discussion Spurs are on down the road, but I think that they are an excellent team.”

Neville says:”Like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in Manchester United, I Believe the same for Frank Lampard at Chelsea. We are seeing Lampard try to alter what’s been a machine for the previous 15 years at Chelsea. They’ve been a physical system that’s had this experience. Youbelieved they understand their way and ‘ve always looked in Chelsea. They’re wise, they’re older.
“You have a look at this team now and it’s less expertise. It has know how and it has immaturity and youth regarding it. Comes a few terrible outcomes and more mistakes.
“Lampard is a youthful manager, but having left the choice to appoint him, it doesn’t seem right they’re not likely to go with them and back them with what they’re trying to do – because he’s attempting to change the culture in the club.
“If you’re attempting to do what Lampard’s performing, that is bringing through the likes of Tammy Abraham,” Mason Mount, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and other academy-type players, you’re likely to need to give him time. That is the issue for both Chelsea, and Manchester United. They will need leadership that is strong, they will have to withstand some pressure, especially on social networking, and stand firm. They need to say”We all know what’s being built here, it is right and we are likely to proceed with this.”
