Marc Marquez has won his sixth largest MotoGP world title – and his fourth in a row – after success in Thailand.
The 26-year-old, that had been taken to hospital following an accident in practice sealed his crown to spare.
The Spaniard needed to acquire at least two points over nearest Andrea Dovizioso – and did so the finished fourth.
Fabio Quartararo was next.
Marquez was handed by frenchman Quartararo about the corner of final lap – but Marquez was still able to retake the cause because of his 53rd MotoGP race win.
I was planning the weekend to win the race and not think about the championship, said Marquez.
My goal was to get the perfect way to win on the race, and thats exactly what I did.
Amazing year. All the staff did an incredible job. Now it is time to enjoy and observe the name.
The race will take place in Japan on 20 October.
